Former Governor Fayose Hints at Dumping PDP

Former Governor of Ekiti state and PDP Chieftain, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose drops hints that he might leave the party very soon. This was said in a statement he made in the early hours of today, Monday.

“We have no regret aligning with Governor Wike to support Governor Tambuwal for the presidential ticket and no apologies either,” Fayose said.

“We kept the party alive and strong when most men became ladies. We never compromised. If any group feels it can do it alone, we will see how far they can go.

“I may renounce my membership of the party if the need arises. In the main time, myself and others will continue with our consultations while watching the turn of event.

“We cannot but appreciate leaders that have intervened so far, but this release became necessary to avoid fresh crisis or misrepresentation.”

This is following the PDP convention held from Saturday to Sunday at Port Harcourt where Former President Alhaji Abubakar clinched the PDP presidential ticket in the coming 2019 general elections. The former governor, Ayodele Fayose, Governor Nyesom Wike and some others had earlier thrown the full weight of their support for Aminu Tambuwal for the presidential ticket.

Dr Fayose made it known that he had no regrets supporting Aminu Tambuwal and he might leave the party very soon, should the need arise.
